About this species

A rare cyprinid endemic to a few clear rivers of the Korean Peninsula, designated a Natural Monument for protection. It builds distinctive gravel-mound nests and feeds on bottom insects and algae in clean, flowing water. As a protected species it must never be targeted or kept, only admired.

Similar Species
