A truly gigantic grouper reaching over 300 kg, so heavily overfished that harvest is banned in US waters. It guards wrecks, ledges and reefs, inhaling prey with a cavernous mouth and booming with its swim bladder. Catch-and-release on the heaviest gear only — these giants must be returned.
